SHERIDAN — Barbara Ruth Kropp, 69, of Sheridan, Ark., passed away Thursday, July 30, 2015, at her home. Mrs. Kropp was born June 29, 1946, in Texarkana, Texas, to the late John Bunyan and Nellie Ruth Easley Bell.

DUMAS — Marise Emerson Chastain Smith, 93, of Dumas passed away July 31, 2015, in Pine Bluff. She was born October 26, 1921 in Ranger, Texas. Her parents, Garvin Dunn Chastain and Mary Lee Emerson Chastain preceded her in death.

Carol Gordon

Carol Ann Gordon passed from this life to the next on Sunday, May 31, 2015. She will be remembered for her smile and love of life. Carol was known for her passion for art and having an eye for all things beautiful in life. While being a full-time, stay at home mom and housewife Carol worked hard and achieved her bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas, Little Rock. She later explored her love for teaching and ultimately retired as a visual arts teacher from Minarets High School in 2014. Carol will be greatly missed but forever in our hearts.

Funeral services for Curtis “Lampeel” Lee Greer, 58, of Pine Bluff, passed July 27, at John L. McClellan Veterans Hospital in Little Rock, will be held Saturday 11:00 a.m. New Salem MBC in Sherrill, Ark., Rev. Clark Thomas pastor, Rev. Joseph Valliant Jr. officiating.

Kevin Lee Lampkin, 30, of Pine Bluff, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2015. He leaves to cherish his memory; parents, Allen Lampkin and Joyce Britten; siblings, Courtney Tripp, Corey, Renisha and Whitney McDowell; one daughter, Asya Lampkin.

Caroline Gorman

RISON –– Caroline Sue Gorman, 53, of Rison, died at her home Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Mrs. Gorman was born August 18, 1961, in Tulare, California, the daughter of the late Louis and Ruby Heritage Clingan.

Willie Morgan

Willie Von Pierce Reed Morgan, age 90, of Rison, died Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. Mrs. Morgan was born September 7, 1924 in Grapevine, a daughter of the late Harvey C. and Mattie Mae “Marie” Johnson Pierce. She attended schools in Grapevine and Pine Bluff. Mrs. Morgan was a member of Rison Baptist Church, where she taught children’s Sunday school for twenty-eight years and was a member of the church choir for many years. She was the retired owner of Reed’s Dry Good Store. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Cleve W. Reed, Sr. and Huey Morgan; three sisters, Nona Shoptaw Huntley, Eva Jane Lee, and Patsy Lindsey; brother, Harvey C. Pierce, Jr.

Clifton Shine, Jr.

Mr. Clifton Shine, Jr. 56, of Pine Bluff passed Saturday, June 13, 2015. He was born in Dayton, Ohio to Clifton and Vera Mae(Carter) Shine, Sr., both of Pine Bluff. He leaves to cherish memories: His Parents; One Son, Christopher Reshard Shine of Sherwood, Ark.; Two Daughters, LaToya Shine-Mason of Suffolk, Va., Britana Shine of Little Rock, Ark., Three Brothers, Rickey Shine of Dallas, Texas, Maurice Shine of Los Angeles, Calif., Reginald Shine of Atlanta, Ga.; One Sister, JoAnn Williams of Little Rock, Ark.; Five Grandchildren.

Frances Young

DALLAS, TEXAS - Frances Evelyn Young, 90, passed away in Dallas, Texas on June 13, 2015. She was born November 14, 1924 in Humphrey, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and cared for many in her family that she loved so much. She had been living in her hometown of Humphrey, Arkansas until she moved to be closer to her sister, Sally.

Elmer Hill

AUSTIN TEXAS - Elmer Hill of Austin, Texas passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2015. Elmer was born in Taft, Oklahoma on April 26, 1928 to Rufus Hill and Rosetta Graham Hill. Elmer spent more than 30 years living and working in Rochester, New York where he was a well-known leader within Jehovah’s Witness community. Elmer started his own flooring contracting business and helped many young people learn a trade.

Annie Chatman

Annie M. Chatman, 82, of Pine Bluff died June 16, 2015 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Henson-Holcomb Mortuary.
