KINGSLAND - James E. Crosby, age 79, of Kingsland, Arkansas went to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Dallas County Medical Center in Fordyce. He was born January 25, 1935 in Kingsland to the late Florence Gage Hughes. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sharon Graham Crosby of Kingsland, whom he married September 27, 1975; bother in law, Alex Graham and nephews, Mike Neal and Tony Neal.

RISON - Lallie Mae Chism Francis of Rison, went home to be with the Lord Sunday June 15, 2014 at the age of 101 years. She was born on March 2, 1913 in Danville, a daughter of the late Jesse and Laura Hill Chism.

DUMAS - James H. “Pete” Ashcraft, Sr., 73 of Dumas, died Saturday. He was born June 14, 1941 in Wells Bayou to the late William Hogan and Beulah Katherine Hoyt Ashcraft.

Jewell Daughtery

BENTON - Jewell Ella Nelson Daugherty, age 93 of Benton, Ark., formerly of Wilmar, joined her Lord and Saviour on Friday, June 13, 2014. She was born in the Barkada community on September 12, 1920 the daughter of the late Carl and Florence Wright Nelson.

Eunice Owen

Eunice Thomasson Owen, 90, of Pine Bluff, died Saturday. She was born September 5, 1923 in Herbine to the late Edgar and Myrtle Workman Thomasson. She was a graduate of Woodlawn High School where she was salutatorian. She was a charter member and Past Matron of Star Chapter 608 Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of New Home Missionary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years, was past president of the ladies auxiliary, and had many leadership roles. She was also a member of the Star City Garden Club, and worked at the polls as a judge/clerk for all elections.

Weldon Boyter

Weldon Wayne Boyter, 83, of Pine Bluff and New Edinburg, died Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. Wayne was born in Mira, Louisiana April 24, 1931 to the late Joel Hilton and Annie Langston Boyter. As a teenager, the family moved to the Pine Bluff Arsenal area and he graduated from White Hall High School.

Chloe Crouch

SHERIDAN - Chloe Mae Bartee Crouch of Sheridan, Ark., was born July 26, 1925 in Ashdown, Ark., the daughter of the late Joseph Andrew and Odessa Jones Bartee. She was a charter member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Sheridan and was a member of the Ephesus E.H.C. She had worked many years at West Bend and also was a secretary at the Sheridan Elementary School. She enjoyed reading, working in her flower beds and gardening.
