SHERIDAN - Beatrice Alamay Cantwell Pennington of Sheridan, Arkansas was born June 24, 1922 at Bearden, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Charles Howard and Annie Bertha Pate Cantwell. Her favorite pastime was shopping. She was proud to be the matriarch of her large family, and the rich legacy she leaves behind will be treasured by each of them.

ALTHEIMER - Mrs. Stacy Renae Whitmore- Slater 45, of Altheimer, Arkansas passed away on November 18, 2014. She was born October 13, 1969 to Dorothy Whitemore and the late Charlie B. Whitmore.

(Wine) White, Sons, James White, Jr. both of Pine Bluff, Raymond Monk of Flint, Michigan; Daughters, Bessie Monk, Sheila Carter, Brother, Bobby White all of Pine Bluff; Sisters, Thelma Scott of Arlington, Texas, Doris White of Camden, Ark.; Seven Grandchildren; Eight Great-Great-Grandchildren.

William Walker

Mr. William Walker, 80 of Pine Bluff passed Monday, November 24, 2014. He was born in Gethsemane, Ark. to the late Josiah Walker and Janie Lou Birdia (Simms) Walker.

Mrs. Avris Jean Jackson-McBride, 61 of Pine Bluff passed Saturday, November 22, 2014. She was born in Pine Bluff, Ark. to the late Moses Jackson and Murgean (Edward) Jackson of Pine Bluff. Survivors include, Husband, James T. McBride, Son, Michael McBride, Daughter, Delisha McBride, Sister, Mary Rhodes all of Pine Bluff; Three Grandchildren.

Carolyn Haynie

Mrs. Caroyln Rena Haynie, 51, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas passed away November 21, 2014. She was born July 28, 1963 to John Haynie and Dorothy Mae Smith. Carolyn leaves to cherish her memories her husband; Mr. Jimmy Henderson; three daughters, Karim Fulghem (Melchesadeck) Rice and Jasmine Haynie (Corey) Carter both of Pine Bluff and Antarra (Cameron) Jones of Dumas, a son, Damion (Jennifer) Haynie of Pine Bluff, two brothers, John (Sarah) Haynie and Eric Haynie both of Monticello; five sisters, Rose (Troy) Foster of Monticello, Glenda (Preston) Haynie of Memphis, Tenn., Vickie Haynie of Monticello, Cheryl Haynie Crockett of Atlanta, Ga., and Patsy Haynie Jackson, Monticello; Father, John

Brandon Curry

Mr. Brandon Jermaine Curry 31, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas passed away on November 18, 2014. He was born January 5, 1983 to Ivory Curry and the late Lee Andrew Knight.

Brenda Cuba

On Wednesday, November 19, 2014, God peacefully escorted Brenda Joyce Cuba to glory. She was born August 16,1946 to the late Eursie C. Perry and the late L.V. Hudson. Brenda received her primary education in Pine Bluff, Arkansas before integration and graduated from Merrill High School in 1964. In 1998 she received her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. She worked for Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service. She worked at Dollarway School District for many years as an Instructional Aide. She also worked for the Jefferson County Court as a Truancy Officer for many years. In 2008 she retired from the Juvenile Justice Detention Center as a FINS Intake Officer.

Geneva Jacobs

RISON - Geneva “Grandmother” Jacobs, age 93, of the Macedonia community near Rison, Ark., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 28, 2014. She was born April 20, 1921 in the Macedonia community, a daughter of the late Charles Victor Brown and Myra Ellen Cash Brown. Mrs. Jacobs was a long time member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. She had many hobbies which included working in her yard, sewing, quilting and fishing. Mrs. Jacobs greatly enjoyed all of them. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, James Joseph Jacobs; two sons, Alvin Lee Jacobs and James A. Jacobs; one son-in-law, Levon Puckett; three grandchildren, Phillip Erwin, David Wayne Herrington and Donna Gayle Jacobs and two great grandchildren.

Bobby Robison

MONTICELLO - Bobby Robison, 56 of Monticello passed away October 21 at his home in Monticello. He was born September 17, 1958 in Rusk, Texas to the late Louis Robison and Mary Lou Masters Robison. He was also preceded in death by one grandson, Paul Kenneth Russel.

Elsie Deal

HARRISON - Elsie Marcille Yelvington Deal, age 88 passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at her daughter’s home in Harrison, Ark., during the early morning hours of October 28, in the year of our Lord 2014, the world lost a rare treasure. Elsie left her mortal body behind, and was ushered into eternity to be reunited with a host of family and friends who have gone before her. She departed peacefully, resting in the loving arms of her only daughter and her first-born grandson. Today she rests in the arms of Jesus whom she claimed at an early age as her Lord and Savior.

Willora Scott, 66, of Pine Bluff passed October 22, 2014 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born July 18, 1948 in Pine Bluff to the late Woodroe and Albertha Scott Walker.

Alfreda Hill

Mrs. Alfreda Joyce Shootes Hill, 73 of Pine Bluff, Ark., passed Tuesday, October 28, 2014. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff. In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund has been established in her name.
