BATON ROUGE, LA - Mae Eva Castleberry, age 97, of Baton Rouge, La., formerly of Warren, Ark., died Monday, January 26, at home. Graveside services 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 29, at Hickory Springs Cemetery near Warren. Visitation 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, at Frazer’s.

Kathleen Harvey

STUTTGART -Kathleen Williams Harvey, age 85, of Stuttgart, formerly of Pine Bluff, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 27, 2015. Mrs. Harvey was born June 24, 1929 in Herbine, a daughter of the late Albert Lee Williams and Beatrice Rawls Williams. She was a member of Oak Park Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs. Harvey enjoyed fishing, shopping and most of all, spending time with her family. She worked for Ben Pearson, the Pine Bluff Commercial and The Classic Touch.

Jimmy Wilson

SHERIDAN - Jimmy Doyle Wilson of Sheridan, Ark., was born October 18, 1945 in Rison, Arkansas the son of the late J.T. and Ethel Wilkins Wilson. He was a 1963 graduate of Dollarway High School and was the owner of Wilson and Son Landscaping for over 30 years.

MONTICELLO - Michael Foy Reed, 54 of Monticello died Saturday, January 10, 2015. He was born September 23, 1960 in Natchez, Miss. to the late Pete and Verbie Culp Reed.

Ann Barbour

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. - Ann Dooley Barbour, 79, passed away in Scottsdale, Arizona on January 7th following a courageous multi-year battle with a variety of pulmonary related illnesses, surrounded by family. Ann was known for her selfless personality, strong faith, kindheartedness to all, music and love of sports.

SHERWOOD - Janice Alane Bowyer, 55, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at her home in Sherwood, Ark. Mrs. Bowyer is survived by her husband of 38 years, Richard Bowyer.

James White

HOT SPRINGS - James “Jim” William White, 75, of Hot Springs, Arkansas passed peacefully January 5, 2015. He was born March 16, 1939, in East Calais, Vermont, to the late Andrew and Melvina (Chalifoux) White. Jim served in the Navy and was a piper on the USS Blandy. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner, and a Member of the American Legion. He was also an avid baseball fan and especially enjoyed cheering on the New York Yankees. Jim was a dedicated father and husband who loved his family and grandkids. Before moving to Hot Springs, he lived in Pine Bluff where he worked at Illinois Tool and a few car dealerships.

Katherine Powell

Ms. Katherine Lovette Powell, 80 of Pine Bluff, passed away on January 4, 2014. She was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to the late James and Corine Lovette. After graduating from Lake Village High School in 1951 as valedictorian, she continued her education at Arkansas Agriculture Mechanical and Normal College which later became the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. She received a bachelor of Arts and began building a fifty year legacy as an outstanding educator and author at Dumas School District- School Library Media Center, Alport High School 4th grade, 9th English/Librarian, Marian Anderson School, 6th Grade, and Damascus School-Social Studies. In her quest for continuous knowledge, she earned a Master of Science in Education from University of Central Arkansas, in Conway, Arkansas and a Master of Library Science from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas.

Mr. Dennis Leroy Litzsey, 53, of Pine Bluff passed Sunday, January 4, 2015. He was born in Flint, Michigan to Hubert Leroy Litzsey of Ladd, Arkansas and the late Margaret(Buckner) Litzsey. He leaves to cherish memories, Father, Hubert Leroy Litzsey of Ladd; Son, Demetrius Litzsey of Lansing, Mich.; Brother, Chauncey Slay of Little Rock; Sisters, Meredith Ford, Madara Banks, Marshia Litzsey, Karen Bates all of Flint, Mich., Monica Moore of Pine Bluff; Phyllis Richards of Flint, Mich., Perina Muldow of Antioch, Calif.; One Grandchild.

Marie Hall

Marie Jeanette Phillips Hall, 62, of Pine Bluff passed Tuesday, January 6, 2015. She was born July 13, 1952 in Charleston, South Carolina to Margaret Harley Phillips and the late Herman Adolph Phillips. Jeanette graduated from Dollarway High School in 1970. She was the front office assistant at White Hall Family Clinic for the past tenyears and had worked for twenty years at Captured Moments in Pine Bluff. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, best friend and will be missed by all that loves her. She is preceded in death by her father; her husband, Keith Hall; sons, Charles “Tommy” Calvert and Travis Sean Calvert. Jeanette is survived by bher daughter, Terrie D. Holcomb and granddaughter, Olivia Gabrielle Holcomb both of Hot Springs; sister, Sarah (Bobby) Young and nephews, Kenneth Phillips and Michael Davis all of White Hall. Visitation will be Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Cranford Funeral Home of White Hall. Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Breast Cancer Foundation. PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS - Mr. Samuel Baker, Sr., 70, of Port Arthur, Texas passed Saturday, January 3, 2015. He was born in Gould, Ark. to the late Frank and Earnestine Baker. Survivors include, Nine children; 16 Step Children; 11 Siblings. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church located at 3201 2nd Avenue by Pastor Larry Battles. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The repast will be held at Mt. Nebo following the interment.
