Truell G. “Griff” Johnson, 73 of Pine Bluff died at his home, Monday, February 3, 2014.
He was born June 11, 1940 at Pine Bluff to Truell Amos and Lillian Griffin Johnson. He was reared and received his education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Watson Chapel High School.
Mr. Johnson was retired from the Cotton Belt Railroad after thirty-three years of service, as a crane operator in the Derailment Department. He was a member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Mary Thompson Johnson, children, Wayne Johnson of Pine Bluff, Rex Johnson of Memphis, Debra Harrington of Sherrill, Lori Cantrell of Star City, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one great-grandson.
The family will have a Memorial Service, Wednesday, 10 a.m. at Bethany Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be private, by Ralph Robinson and Son. They will visit with friends, after the service Wednesday.
