Ruth Dilks May, 80, of Pine Bluff, died Sunday, December 8, 2013, in Trinity Village Medical Center in Pine Bluff. Mrs. May was born October 17, 1933, in Lee County, Ark., the daughter of the late Jack and Leona Webb Dilks.
Mrs. May was reared and received her education in Lee County, where she attended the Lee County schools.
She was a member of Whiteville Missionary Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death in 1982, by her husband, Charlie Lee May, Sr., whom she married November 6, 1951, in Lee County; son, Melvin May; daughter, Sherry Collins; five brothers, Thomas, Samuel, Johnny, Frank and Jack Dilks, Jr.
Survivors include, daughters, Shelia Ames of Star City, Judy Brewer, Regenia Ann Ames, Vanessa Truhett and Emma Jean Segars, all of Pine Bluff; sons, Charles Lee May, Jr. of Pine Bluff and Mark May of Forrest City; 20 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors with Reverend James Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson’s Tuesday, December 10, 2013, from 6-8 p.m.
