Nina Reid


Nina Gail Pippin Reid passed from this life on April 19, 2014 at the age of 70. She was born in Panama City, Fla. on March 12, 1944 to John Huey and Addie Belle Kirkland Pippin. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Jessie and Savanna Pippin and maternal grandparents, Offie and Ivy Kirkland.

Gail moved to Pine Bluff with her family when she was 12 years old. She graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1962. It was there that she met the love of her life, “Bo” Reid. Always supportive and devoted to each other, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Valentine’s day of this year. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church.

Gail is survived by her husband Thomas B. (Bo) Reid, Jr., sister Laura Pippin Patterson of Pine Bluff, sister-in-law Jean Reid Menotti and her husband Bob of Madison, Ala., nephews Anthony Banyon Patterson of Springdale, Ark., Steven Reid Menotti of Birmingham, Ala., niece Robyn Claire Menotti of Huntsville, Ala., five great nieces and two great great nieces.

Gail worked as a Department of Defense civilian at the Pine Bluff Arsenal. She retired in 1999 after 30 years of dedicated service.

In addition to her professional skills she was recognized by friends and family for her many talents, which she humbly downplayed. Gail was a talented seamstress, an avid needle worker, and creator of beautiful ceramics. Flower gardening was one of her favorite pastimes. Many were impressed at her carpentry skills including project design, the use of special tools and equipment and finishing.She also was a skilled fishing companion to Bo.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son, with Reverend James Watson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
