Jimmy Don Huckaby, age 66, of Pine Bluff, died Monday, October 7, 2013.
He was born January 8, 1947 at Pine Bluff, a son of the late Reverend Ray Oliver Huckaby and Vera Bell Tucker Huckaby. He was a graduate of Grady High School, and served in the Arkansas Army National Guard. He worked as a conductor for the Missouri Pacific Railway (later Union Pacific) for 41 years, and retired in 2007. Mr. Huckaby was of the United Pentecostal faith, and was predeceased by a brother, Reverend Charles “Hub” Huckaby (Pat) and Mildred Huckaby Calloway (Horace). Survivors include his wife, Nancy Lynne Smith Huckaby; brother, Ray Huckaby (Mabel); sister Betty Ruth Huckaby Thomas (Harold); son, Don Huckaby (DaLana); stepsons, Stacey Townsend and Brian Townsend (Christine); stepdaughter, Tracy Busby (James); 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Bennie Smith Veilleux, Paula Smith Smolenyak (John), and Janet Smith Simons: along with a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 2:00 p.m. at Calvary’s Lighthouse with Brother Sammy Alverson and Brother Phillip Hedden officiating. Interment will be in Bellwood Cemetery by Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services. Visitation will begin Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the church.
