James Voy Cash, age 88, of Pine Bluff, died Sunday, December 8, 2013.
He was born March 24, 1925 at Calmer, a son of the late Wallace Henry Cash and Mary Belle Reed Cash. He was reared and educated in Cleveland County, and graduated from Woodlawn High School. Mr. Cash received both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
During World War II, he served in the United States Army, and was a member and Deacon at East Side Baptist Church.
A long-time educator, Mr. Cash taught in a number of school districts in positions of Teacher, Principal, and Superintendant. He retired as superintendant of the Carthage School District.
In addition to his parents, a brother, Carlton Cash, and three sisters, Eva Mae Post, Helen Holderfield, and Etta Faye Walters predeceased him.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Glover Cash, who he married on January 12, 1946;
two daughters, Sandra Kelly (Gary) and Susan Wentz (Jeff); a son, Steven Cash, MD (Barbara); a brother, Bennie Cash; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel with Brother Josh Dutton officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery in Cleveland County.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
