On December 5, 1991 God planted a seed in Little Rock, Ark. that blossomed into JaMary Kala Wells. After 22 years of nurturing that seed, God stopped the clock and JaMary swiftly changed from time to eternity on Sunday, March 30, 2014. She was a 2010 graduate of Watson Chapel High School in Pine Bluff, Ark. and majored in Animal Science at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
JaMary accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior on February 23, 1997, at the tender age of 5. Her Christian service immediately began by singing in the choir, serving as an usher, and performing in dramatic plays. JaMary was very active at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church—her home church—where she sang in the youth and Chancel choirs, taught and performed praise dances, and volunteered in the Nursery ministry. The light that God put in JaMary shone brightly throughout her life by mentoring others and being an example for others to follow.
JaMary leaves to cherish her memories: her Father and Mother Lawrence A. and Sandra J. Wells; three brothers—Brennan, Lewcious, and Keenan; one God brother—Lil Charles; two Godmothers—Ruth Ward Rice and Mary Ann Frazier; and an enormous host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
JaMary’s homegoing celebration will begin at 12 p.m. on Saturday April 5, 2014, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church (1404 Georgia Street) in Pine Bluff and officiated by Rev. Steven E. King, Pastor. JaMary will be laid to rest in the Gill Family Cemetery in Marvell, Ark.
The family will receive friends on Friday April 4, 2014 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. JaMary’s funeral services are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff, Ark.
JaMary’s body will lie in-state Saturday 11:15 a.m. until service.
