MEMPHIS, TENN. — Norman Benjamin White, 86, of Memphis, TN, formerly of Pine Bluff (Watson Chapel) died Tuesday, December 24, 2013.
Born November 9, 1927 at Pine Bluff, he was a son of the late John Allen White, Sr. and Gladys Bell White.
Mr. White was a member of the Church of Christ and had served in the United States Army Special Forces Ranger Unit during the Korean Conflict.
He worked as a locomotive mechanic before going into business for himself as the owner/operator of White Material Handling Equipment Company for some 30 years. He again retired as Maintenance Supervisor for Campbell 66 Truck Line.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Allen White, Jr.
Mr. White is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mrs. Frances Carter White; sons, David White (Cindy), Johnny White, and Michael White (Luzia); daughters, Marilyn Newell, and Melissa White; brothers, Doug, Ronald, Clifford and Orland White; sisters, Emma Catherine Locke, and Barbara Dowell; five grandchildren, Tina, Johnny, Brent, David and Kenny; seven great-grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, at 11:00 a.m., followed by Funeral Services at 12:00 p.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel.
Burial will follow in Bell Cemetery at the Staves Community.
