Muriel Davis


Mrs. Muriel Elaine Davis, daughter of the late Herman Harry White and La Erma White, was born on October 21, 1947, in Texarkana, Arkansas.

Elaine completed her secondary education at Booker T. Washington High School (Texarkana, Arkansas). After high school she matriculated at Arkansas Agricultural, Mechanical & Normal (AM&N) College (University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff). She went on to complete her Master of Science at Henderson State University. A dedicated teacher starting in Atlheimer, Ark. for 20 years she went on to pour into others her love of education in classrooms across Arkansas until May 2014.

Elaine retired as JCCSI Child Care Links Program Director (Resource and Referral Agency) in Pine Bluff in the spring of 2014.

She leaves to cherish her loving ways and spirit to her husband of 42 years, G.B Davis; daughter Katina Dyane Davis (Little Rock, AR); her mother; La Erma White (Texarkana, AR); two sisters, LaVerne McQueen (Fort Worth, TX) and Carolyn White (Atlanta, GA). Her father, Herman White, preceded her in death.

Funeral Services will be at 10a.m., Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Pilgrim Baptist Church by Reverend Kelvin Crumpton, Jr. Burial will be in Forrest Lawn Cemetery by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.

The body will lie in-state Saturday at 9:15 a.m. until service time.

Visitations/Family Hour will be Friday, 6-7:30 p.m. at Pilgrim M.B.C.
