Keith D. Sandine, 54, of Pine Bluff, passed away Friday, January 3, 2014.
Born May 26, 1959, in Rison, Ark., he was a son of the late William and Patsy Bethea Sandine. He was reared and received his education in Rison, attending Rison High School.
He served in the United States Army.
Mr. Sandine married Frances Leal Featherston. Together they moved to the Pine Bluff area, where they raised their family. He was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Sandine enjoyed spending time at their dog camp on Sandine Road in Herbine.
He owned and operated Bar S. Baypen in Herbine.
Mr. Sandine was an avid hog hunter, bay pen enthusiast and loved the outdoors. He raised and bred champion Hog Bay Dogs. Mr. Sandine was the only person to win all categories at Uncle Earl’s Annual Hog Dog Trials in Winfield, Louisiana. He was a member of the Arkansas Dog Hunters Association.
He was a “jack of all trades”. He had worked at Pine Bluff Nursing Home in maintenance, in heating and air at Comfort Air and Nicholson’s Heating and Air and had worked as a construction supervisor prior to his medical retirement. He knew a little about a lot and was always willing to lend his expertise.
Mr. Sandine was a Christian man, having belonged to Pine Bluff Christian Church, First Assembly of God and currently a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Matthew Featherston; one grandchild Michael Duncan and his beloved dog, Bar S. Bonnie.
Survivors include his wife, friend and companion of twenty-five years, Frances Sandine, of Pine Bluff; his children, Brandy Doss, of Woodlawn, Christina Featherston, Amanda Wooldridge and Marshall Featherston all of Pine Bluff; his grandchildren, #1 granddaughter: Cheyenna, Lilly & Lucy Featherston and Mason Featherston, arriving in February, Issac Neeley, Austin Rushing, Hannah, Skylar & Maddie Wooldridge, Emily Doss; his sisters and brothers, Becky & Ricky Terry, of Pine Bluff, Tammy & Paul Bray, of Rison, Ronny & Shelly Sandine, of Woodlawn; a special cousin, Chad Cullipher of Texarkana; along with a host of friends, nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Prosperity Cemetery at Herbine with David Flemister and Don Herring officiating by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.
