James Jones


Mr. James Jones was born October 20, 1916, in Winchester Ark. He was the oldest child of six children born to the late James Jones Sr. and Atlean Jones Arnold. He was a World-War II Veteran who served in the U.S. Army for three years (1943-1946). He also worked at the Pine Bluff Arsenal for thirty-five years, the last several years as a foreman (supervisor).

Mr. Jones departed this life on Wednesday, October 16, 2013. He leaves to cherish his memory, one sister, Mrs. Ruthie Wilson, of Popular Grove, Ark.; five sons, Mr. Jimmy Lee Jones (Mattie), Mr. Curtis Jones (Evelyn), Mr. Maurice Patrick Jones, all of Little Rock, Ark., Mr. Larry Phillip Jones (Joyce) of Arlington, Texas, Mr. Dwight Earl Jones (Debbie) of Hampton, Ga.; four daughters, Mrs. Maxine Jones Shelton, Ms. Juanita Jones both of Pine Bluff, Ark., Ms. Victoria Jones Hamilton of Gary, Ind., Ms. Caroline Jones, of Little Rock, Ark.; 28 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the P.K. Miller Mortuary. Interment will be in the Veteran’s Section of Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the mortuary on Friday from 5-7 p.m.
