James T. Anderson, 99, of Pine Bluff, Ark., went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 2, 2013, at his home.
He was born, May 25, 1914, in Palmyra, Arkansas, to James F. and Myrtle Corner Anderson.
He was reared and educated in the Lincoln County School District. He moved to Pine Bluff in 1951.
Mr. Anderson served in the United States Army during World War II.
He had worked 20 years at the Pine Bluff Arsenal before retiring in 1979, as a munitions handler.
He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and the VFW.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Joyce Jennings; brothers, Chester, Roy and William Anderson; and sisters, Mae Lemons, Mary Riggins, Laura May and Veda Montgomery.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred V. Keith Anderson, whom he married on March 26, 1955, in Pine Bluff; a daughter, Brenda Kay Armitage of Albany, Wisconsin; a sister, Addie Jean Davis of Fordyce, Arkansas; five grandchildren, James Jennings (Kelley) of Texas, Jeremy Jennings of Pine Bluff, Joe Armitage of Wisconsin, Mike Armitage of Ill., Susan Armitage of Wis.; six great-grandchildren, Allison, DJ, Brennan and Hannah Jennings, Matthew and Beau Armitage.
Visitation will be Wednesday 5-8 p.m. at Robinson’s.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 5, 2013, Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with Dr. Don Taylor officiating.
Burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery near Star City, Arkansas.
