Herman Little

Herman Lee Little, 86, of Pine Bluff, died Monday, January 6, 2014, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Mr. Little was born June 17, 1927, in Morrilton, Ark., a son of the late Herbert David and Nina Mae Smith Little.

Mr. Little was reared and received his education in Morrilton, where he attended the Morrilton schools. He moved to Pine Bluff in 1947 and began working for Arkansas Best Freight as a truck driver and retired in 1985, after 38 years of service. He was a member of Good Faith Carr United Methodist Church where he was Sunday School Superintendent for eight years, Chairman of the Board Chairman of the Building and Grounds Committee, a church Trustee, former member of the Lions Club and the Elks Lodge Club in Illinois and the Harmony Grove Hunting Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Moreen Starr Little, whom he married February 26, 1947, in Centralia, Ill.; daughter, Joyce Little; four brothers, Cecil, Herbert David, Jr., Robert and Johnny; two sisters, Mildred Stanley and Mary Frances Mount.

Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Watson (D. J.) of Pine Bluff; three brothers, Joe Edward Little (Jeraldine) of Kell, Ill., Clarence F. Little (Bernice) of Centralia, Ill., and Jesse Martin Little of Champaign, Ill.; two sisters, Louise Gholson

(Donald) of Gun Barrel, Texas and Carol Jean Griffin (Larry) of Kell, Ill.; one step-grandson, Anthony Watson of Grapevine and a dear friend, Beth Beckwith of Pine Bluff and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 9, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. at Good Faith Carr United Methodist Church with Reverend Dr. Ryan Rush officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time Thursday at the Church.
