ARP, Texas — Hazel Maxine Jacks Rodgers, 76, of Arp, Texas, formerly of Pine Bluff, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2013.
Born July 9, 1937 at Rowell, she was a daughter of the late Thomas W. Jacks and Mellie Linzy Jacks.
A member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church, Mrs. Rodgers was a homemaker first and foremost. She did however work outside of the home for several years as a seamstress for Levi Strauss, and retired in 2002 from the Arkansas public school system as a cafeteria worker.
She enjoyed word search, and television game shows in her down time. She also enjoyed watching the Gaither’s and catching up with friends on the telephone, and spoiling grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Bobby D. Rodgers; siblings, Lula Mae McBryde, Wilbur Jacks and Jewell McCoskey.
Mrs. Rodgers is survived by her daughters, Lisa Juneau and husband John, and Jamie Milburn and husband Joey; siblings, Zelma Stuckey, Bennie Jacks, Mary Parker and Carolyn Simmons; five grandchildren, Natt and wife Kayla, Julia, Colton, Presley, Jessa, and many other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 2:30 p.m. at Harmony Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Roger Copeland and Brother Nathan Petty officiating.
Visitation will be Saturday, at the church from 1:30 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow in New Home Cemetery.
