Guy Fisher Rowland, Jr., 89, of Pine Bluff, Ark., passed away, Saturday, March 1, 2014, at his home.
He was born November 21, 1924, in Sherrill, to Guy Fisher Rowland, Sr. and Evie Poteet Rowland.
He was reared and educated in Sherrill, graduating from Sherrill High School.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Rowland moved to Pine Bluff in 1941.
He had worked for Yancy Turner Construction which later became Turner Marine Service for a total of 58 years before retiring as a superintendent.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Robert L. Rowland; sisters, Betty Lynn Rowland and Helen Bogue.
Survivors include his wife, Nelba Wood Rowland, whom he married on April 8, 1950, in Keo; a son, Guy Burton “Buddy” Rowland of Pine Bluff and a daughter, Barbara Miller of Little Rock.
Visitation will be 2:30 p.m., until service time, Tuesday, at Robinson’s. Funeral service will be 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 4, 2014, Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with Reverend Howard Loetscher officiating.
Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
