Genevia Williams

SHERRILL — In the year of our Lord 1923, on the 8th day of September, the late Lee Coleman and Stella Walker were blessed with the birth of Genevia Coleman.

She accepted Christ at an early age. Genevia was an active member of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church. She served her church as an usher and on the hospitality committee.

Genevia received her early education in the Pastoria Community. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Curtis Williams in 1944. She was a devoted housewife, and mother. Her favorite pastimes were sewing, fishing and cooking.

She departed this life on Wednesday, November 20, 2013. Her husband preceded her in death 2003 and also a daughter, Betty Jean Williams.

Survivors are: four sons, Sam Jackson, Carl Williams, Curtis (Sylvia) Williams of Sherrill, Ark., and Malvin (Alana) Williams of Humble, Texas; six daughters, Armey (Jimmy) Brazile of Sherrill, Ark., Geneva (Ridley) Woolfolk of Pine Bluff, Ark., Stella Dickerson of Houston, Texas, Lelia (Wallace) Ozan of Baytown, Texas, Verginia (Jeffery) McKinley of Charlotte, N.C., Jacqueline Williams of Memphis, Tenn. and one son-in-law, Eunice Williams of Chicago, Ill., and Geneva Alexander of Tucker, Ark.; 36 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 30, 2013 at New Salem Baptist Church in Sherrill, Ark. Burial will be in Elwin “Smith” Cemetery by the P.K. Miller Mortuary of Pine Bluff. Visitation will be held at the mortuary on Friday from 5-7 p.m. Mrs. Williams will lie in repose at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
