Freeda Marie George Riggins, 83, of Pine Bluff, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014.
Born August 7, 1930 in Yell County, she was a daughter of the late James Hamilton “Pete” George and Katie Mae Dunn George.
Mrs. Riggins was a member of the Twenty-Eighth Avenue Church of Christ.
She was caring and compassionate, her life was centered around serving others.
A homemaker first and foremost, she worked outside the home at Jefferson Regional Medical Center where she retired as Switchboard Supervisor after 18 years of service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Thomas Riggins, Jr.; an infant daughter, Sandra Marie;
and a sister, Ruby Nell Kirk.
Mrs. Riggins is survived by her daughters, Kathy Cash (Randy), and Jenny McVay (Dennis); Brothers, Jim George (Mary Ellen), and Bill George (Kay); five grandchildren, Theresa Armstrong, Kerri Akines, Kim Armstrong, Amanda Henderson, and Thomas Henderson; five great-grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends.
Graveside services will be Thursday, 2:00 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with Brother Clarence Fell officiating.
Mrs. Riggin’s family will receive friends Wednesday, 5-7 p.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services, and the residence of Kerri Akines at other times.
