RISON — Frances Ann Hitt Lee, 79 of Rison, Ark., passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Greenhouse Cottages of Southern Hills in Rison.
Born July 19, 1934, in Gould, Arkansas, she was a daughter of the late Leslie Lawrence and Velma Nelson Hitt. She was reared and received her education in Gould attending schools there.
Mrs. Lee was a homemaker, spending her time caring for her four daughters and in later years enjoying the time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a faithful Christian woman and was a member of Northside Baptist Church in White Hall.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Wilbur Charles Hitt; one sister, Marguerite Hitt; and a grandson, Joshua Womack.
She is survived by her four daughters, Shirley Lee Mullin, of Hampton, Arkansas, Peggy Lee Blackledge, of Rison, Sandy Lee Hodges, of Redfield, and Connie Lee Womack, and husband, Randy, of Rison; her grandchildren, Leslie Waters Palmer, of Hensley, Jennifer Lee Beene, of Hampton, Shawn Blackledge, of Rison, Brittany Hodges McQueen, of Redfield, Morgan and Justin Womack, both of Rison and Jeremy Womack, of Louisiana; and her great-grandchildren, Mallory, Abigail, Allyson, Eli, Addison, Nathan, Cambree, Aiden and Anna Grace; along with a host of extended family and friends.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Barbara Ragland, Wanda Oliver, Michelle Phillips and Birdie Martin, along with the staff of Greenhouse Cottages and the staff of Arkansas Hospice for the kindness and care they showed for Mrs. Lee.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 19, 2014, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son, with Reverend Don Nobles officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
