WHITE HALL- Emmit Crawford, 93 of White Hall entered heaven August 7, 2014. He was born on Wolverton Mountain, Conway County, Ark. to the late J.P. & Mary Susan Rainey Crawford. He was preceded in death by Barbara Hurley Crawford who he married August 23, 1946.
He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the Aleutian Islands and Germany. He retired mfrom the Pine BluffArsenal in 1975. He was a Boy Scout Troop Leader for Troop 119 and a Founding member of the Volunteer White Hall Fire Department, an active member of the Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, the American Legio and Mason for over 60 years. His favorite past-time was camping and fishing with family and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, Barbara Crawford, he was preceded in death by four brothers: Albert Rainey, Lee, Ollie, and Earl Crawford; and five sisters: Eunice Clowers, Della Bonds, Opal Crawford, Ella White, and Lula Freeman.
He is survived by three children: his son, Bobby (Linda) Crawford; daughters, Sue (Ben) Jones all of White Hall; and daughter, Lois (Phillip) Williams of Redfield; six grandchildren: Rob (Jennifer) Crawford of Spring, Texas; Susan (Nathan) Caldwell of Sherwood; Kim (Kenny) Daniel of White Hall; Laura (Kyle) Craighead of Owensboro, Ky.; Dustin Williams of Redfield; and Clayton (Jourdan) Williams of North Little Rock. Eight great-grandchildren: Ashley and Robbie Crawford, Luke Foster and Kenley Daniel, Laney-Kate, Piper and Leah Craighead, and Jase-Astin Williams.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 10, 2 p.m. Funeral services to be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Cranford Funeral Home of White Hall, Ark. Burial in White Hall Methodist Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Rob Crawford, Dustin and Clayton Williams, Luke Foster, Nathan Cladwell and Kenny Daniel.
