WHITE HALL — Edgar Cato, 93, of the Hardin Community, White Hall, Ark., died Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at his home.
He was born November 28, 1919, in Faulkner, County, Ark., to Augusta Maine “Maney” and Nellie Bell Peggram Cato.
Mr. Cato had worked as a body, fender and paint specialist for several auto body shops including, Glovers, Trotter’s and Smart’s. He had lived in the Hardin Community for 69 years and enjoyed fishing at Lake Ouachita.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Clara Mae and Velma Cato.
Survivors include his wife of 74 years, Lillie Mae Heath Cato, whom he married on April 8, 1939, in Pine Bluff; sons, Edgar Larry Cato (Ruth Ann) of Manvel, Texas, Gene Cato (Margaret E.) of Sheridan, Michael Ray Cato (Sherry) of White Hall; a sister, Margaret Valdez (Corsey) of Denver Colo.; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the residence of Edgar Cato, 400 Elkins Road, White Hall, Ark. Graveside services by Ralph Robinson & Son will be 10 a.m., Friday, October 25, 2013, at Hardin Cemetery.
