Dorothy Coker


Dorothy Louise Fowler Coker, 86, of Pine Bluff, died Monday, December 30, 2013.

She was born November 5, 1927 in Pine Bluff, daughter of Walter D., Sr. and Corrallie Bogy Fowler. Mrs. Coker was reared and received her early education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School.

She was a member of Sixth Avenue Church of Christ. Mrs. Coker was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion and past secretary and treasurer of her bowling league, “Pleasure Mixed.”

Mrs. Coker was preceded in death by her husband, William Coker; her parents; son, William Coker, Jr.; daughter, Carol Ann Coker; brother, Walter D. Fowler, Jr.; and sister, Dora E. VonTungeln.

Survivors include her granddaughter, Christye Michelle Figley (Kevin) of Beebe; sister, Sybil Coker of Pine Bluff; and three great-grandchildren, Haleigh, Hannah and Hunter Figley.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 3, 2014 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Mr. Randall Elrod officiating. Burial will follow in Bellwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Robinson’s.
