Dr. David Earl Walker, Sr., 65, passed away on January 15, 2014.
He was born February 11, 1948, in Pine Bluff, Ark., the son of Lee William Walker, Sr. and the late Lois Vivian Davis Walker.
Dr. Walker was a 1964 graduate of Townsend Park High School and a 1968 graduate of Arkansas AM&N College (now UAPB). He later earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 1974 from Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in Nashville, Tenn.
Dr. Walker returned to Pine Bluff in 1976, where he practiced dentistry until his death, serving also as Dental Director at Jefferson Comprehensive Care Center. At the time of his death, he had served as a member of the Arkansas State Board of Dental Examiners and the Southern Regional Testing Agency for more than 15 years.
He was also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Dr. Jewell Mitchell Walker; six children: Dr. David Walker, Jr.; Brian Walker; Dr. Torrance Walker; Lori Walker-Woolfolk; Adrienne Richard; and Karl Walker; father, Lee Walker, Sr.; brother, Dr. Lee Walker, Jr.; aunt, Jerusha Davis Hobbs; fourteen grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation/Family Hour will be Monday from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at St. James U.M.C., Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
