WHITE HALL — Claude “Buddy” Ballenger, 82 of White Hall passed peacefully on Monday, May 5, 2014. He was born born April 26, 1932 in Carthage, Miss. to the late William Claude and Vanila Church Ballenger.
Buddy attended schools in Carthage, Miss. and was a United States Air Force Veteran. He was a truck driver for over fifty years, and in 1960 was awarded number one truck driver of the year. Mr. Ballenger was a member of White Hall United Pentecostal Church. Some of his most favorite things to do was spending time with his family, telling jokes to make people laugh, and going to the truck stop and having a cup of coffee with his buddies. He was a genuine and kind man who never met a stranger.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Horatio, Billy, and Mac; sisters, Dilhia Angeline, Ida Ballenger, Mable Hanner, Margret Irene, and Deloris Sanders.
He is survived by his wife, Exie Martin Ballenger; daughter, Holly Martin of Dewitt; brother, John Ballenger of Pine Bluff; sister, Ruby Langford of N.C.
Visitation will be Sunday from 3-4 p.m. with services starting at 4 p.m. Sunday, all at the funeral home.
