Charles Everett Miller, age 85, of Pine Bluff, died Wednesday, October, 30, 2013.
He was born November 18, 1927 at Arkansas City, the son of the late Charles Everett Miller II and Willie Daisy Sullivan Miller. He was reared and educated at Augusta, AR, and graduated from Forrest City High School. He was also a graduate of Arkansas A&M College (now UAM).
Mr. Miller served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Since 1956, he had been a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. His other memberships included the Optimist Club and United Commercial Travelers.
A resident of Pine Bluff since 1952, Mr. Miller worked as an accountant at Trotter Ford, retiring on February 3, 1993 after 34 years of service.
He was preceded in death on July 31, 1999 by his wife, Alene DuPriest Miller, whom he married on December 27, 1951; a grandson, Conrad Hollis on October 28, 2006; and a son-in-law, Danny Cooper on April 20, 2012.
Survivors include his daughters, Sara Hollis (Eric) of Columbus, Miss., and Becky Cooper of Pine Bluff; a sister, Sue Bell of El Paso, Texas; three grandchildren, Meredith Miller (Jeremy), Rachel Davis (Josh) and Kimberly Crosby (Kyle); three great-grandchildren, Brock Miller, Ashton Miller and Eli Davis; a step-granddaughter, Dana McClendon; and step-great-granddaughter, Hannah McClendon.
Graveside services will be Saturday, 3 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with Dr. Don Taylor officiating.
Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Fuller Hale-South.
