Brenda Sue Simmons Frye, 65, of Pine Bluff, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014 in Little Rock.
She was born February 14, 1949 in Little Rock, daughter of Ezell Simmons and Lois Conner Simmons Royal.
Mrs. Frye was reared and received her early education in White Hall, graduating from White Hall High School in 1967.
She worked for SAJ Distributors for over 35 years.
Mrs. Frye was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Pine Bluff. She was very strong in her faith.
As a daughter, Brenda was devoted to spending time with her mother and called her every day.
As a wife, she was a loving and caring soul mate.
As a mother, she saw that her family had a meal on the table every night, including fried chicken on Sundays. She was involved in every activity that her children were in, including choir, baseball, football and cheerleading. She was a super woman who never once said “I don’t feel like helping”.
Mrs. Frye loved her grandkids! Mrs. Frye went above and beyond to spend time with her grandkids. Whether it was ball games, church activities, birthday parties or other events, she was a fabulous Nanny!
Mrs. Frye was also a very frugal woman. She loved cutting coupons and her family and friends called her the original coupon queen!
She was preceded in death by two sons, David and Scotty Frye; her father, Ezell Simmons; and step-father, Jim Royal.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Frye, whom she married June 1, 1967 in Pine Bluff; her mother, Lois Royal of White Hall; son, Kevin D. Frye of Star City; daughter, Lisa F. Lenox of Pine Bluff; brother, James Verlus Simmons of Pine Bluff; six grandchildren, Courtney Frye, Christopher Frye, Timothy Lenox, Jade Brasher, Lorie Lenox and Logan Frye; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, June 28, 2014 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Brother Ray Edmonson and Brother Josh Dutton officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Robinson’s.
The family will be at 8 East Millaway Drive in Pine Bluff.
