MAUMELLE — Billy Gene Rodgers, 84, of Maumelle, formerly of Pine Bluff died Saturday, January 25, at his home.
He was born July 23, 1929 in Calmer, to William Lester and Eula Mae Reed Rodgers. He was reared and received his early education in Calmer and graduated from Woodlawn High School.
He served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict, was a member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church, and retired as Service Manager for Smart Motors.
Mr. Rodgers was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Imogene Hulse Rodgers,and a brother, Eddie Rodgers.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Billie Jean and Roger Davenport of Maumelle; a granddaughter and her husband, Jennifer and Trey Hankins, and great-grandchildren, Olivia and Hulse Hankins, of Maumelle; siblings, Maxine Owen of Little Rock, Linda (Kenny) Yaney and C.T. Rodgers of Pine Bluff.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2014, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son, with Reverends Todd Howard and Don Moore officiating. Burial will be Graceland Cemetery, by Ralph Robinson and Son.
The family will receive friends at Robinson’s, Tuesday evening, 5-7 p.m.
