Anna Merle Key age 80, of Pine Bluff, died Tuesday, December 4, 2013.
She was born August 23, 1933 at Pine Bluff, a daughter of the late Orville Appling and Floy Lites Appling. She was reared and educated at Grapevine and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1951.
For over 30 years, Anna Merle worked at Arkansas Power and Light Company and Middle South Services.
She was a member of Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church, and was a charter member of the Bluff City Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association. She was a volunteer with the Jefferson Regional Medical Center Auxiliary and was a member of three Bunko clubs, which she enjoyed greatly.
She married Donald Lee Key on June 14, 1951 at Sheridan, and he predeceased her on December 11, 1988. A brother, Jerry Appling also preceded her in death in June of 1994.
Anna Merle’s survivors include her sister, Frankie Dale Worley; three nieces, Kellie Divine (Jeff), Lisa Hankins (Bill), and Donna Moore (Scott); and great-nephews, Asher Mitchell and Gage Divine.
Funeral services will be Friday, 1:00 p.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel with Brother Roger Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in Lost Creek Cemetery at Sheridan.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the home of Frankie Dale Worley.
