Travis Earl Chisom

Travis Earl Chisom, 80, of Pine Bluff, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 26, 2024. He was born June 13, 1943, in Monticello to Everett Chisom and Ira Mae Hammil Chisom. After high school, Travis served in the U.S. Air Force. After being discharged, he went to work at Cotton Belt Railroad for four years, then at International Paper for 40 years. Travis taught judo to kids for many years and was a 2nd degree black belt. He also proudly served as the director of the Special Olympics. Travis was a member of First Baptist Church of Pine Bluff, where he served as a deacon and taught in AWANA. Survivors include his wife of almost 63 years, Donna Wood Chisom, whom he married June 15, 1961, in Rison; children, Bryan Chisom (Tina), Sherry Smith (Clint), Kristy Hulse (Alan), and Dustin Chisom; grandchildren, Jennifer, Lauren, Miranda, Britt, Chisom Smith (Katelyn), and Bella; and great-grandchildren, Rowan, Kaiden, Evie, Piper, and Kimber. Preceding him in death were his parents; and brother, Edward Chisom. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Pine Bluff. Rev. Dalton Adger will officiate.
