Helen Riggins

RISON — Helen Louise Riggins, age 90, of Rison went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was born July 15, 1925 in Banks, a daughter of the late Marcus King and Ilda Burks King. Mrs. Riggins was a retired seamstress and faithful, active member of Sardis Missionary Baptist Church in Grapevine. She loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Ralph Riggins and seven brothers.

Grover Shandy

OKLAHOMA — Funeral service for Grover A. “G.A.” Shandy will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2016 in Western Hills Christian Church with Rev. Dave Menge, Pastor officiating.

Ella Quarles

WHITE HALL — Ella Kay Minton Quarles, 68, of White Hall passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016. She was born July 25, 1947 in Wynn, Ark., to the late Roy Otis and Bernice Margaret Stout Minton. She had worked for the Dollarway and White Hall School Districts for twenty-seven years and retired from the White Hall School District. She was a member of First Apostolic Church in Sheridan. She loved to work in her yard with her flowers, go camping with Johnny, made rolls for her church and famiy, and her grand-babies, Maggie, Jake, and Seth. Kay is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Jane Minton; brother, Lawrence Wayne Minton.

Henry Trotter Jr.

Henry Ford Trotter, Jr., 78, passed away on April 25th, 2016 at St. Vincent’s Infirmary in Little Rock, Ark. Henry was born on March 6, 1938 in Pine Bluff, Ark., to Henry and Lucille Simmons Trotter. He graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1956, graduating from Hendrix College in Conway, Ark., in 1960. After service in the Air Force Reserves, he joined his father in the family business, Trotter Ford, in Pine Bluff where he worked until his death. In 1961, he married Elizabeth Sue Russell, also of Pine Bluff, and they enjoyed fifty-five years of loving marriage.

Earl Allred

Earl Allred, 75, of Pine Bluff, Ark., passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016. He was born June 19, 1940 in Pine Bluff to the late Ernest W. and Geneva R. Harden Allred. Earl retired from International Paper after 44 years of service where he worked as a Pipe Fitter. He was an active participant in both the Masonic Lodge and Shriner Organizations. Earl loved spending time with family and friends, especially at the lake.

Edgar Roberson

WHITE HALL — Mr. Edgar Roberson, Jr., 58, of White Hall entered into eternal rest Wednesday, April 20, 2016. On November 29, 1957 in Pine Bluff, Ark., fate manifested itself in a mighty way! After being blessed with four consecutive beautiful daughters, the union of Edgar Roberson Sr. and Viola Roberson gave birth to a handsome baby boy. Continuing the namesake of his father, they lovingly called him “Junior.” Their union later gave birth to one last beautiful baby girl. This crowned young Edgar as the only boy to live with five sisters.

Mary West

Mary Howard Weast, 63, of Star City, died Tuesday at her home. She was born December 25, 1952 in Jefferson County to the late Adam B. and Marie Turner Howard. She was a member of Yorktown First Freewill Baptist Church and was a products finisher for Central Moloney.

Wilma Owen

MOUNTAIN HOME — Mrs. Wilma Vern Owen, age 85, of Mountain Home passed away Monday, April 25, 2016 in Mountain Home. She was born June 16, 1930 in Pine Bluff, Ark. to Morris Silas and Willie Marie (Sanders) Baggette. She married James Franklin Owen on September 10, 1949 in Star City, Ark.

Emma Wingard

Emma Asalene Wingard, 88, of Pine Bluff, passed away Monday, April 25, 2016, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Wingard was born March 18, 1928, in Tulsa, Okla., a daughter of Thomas and Etta Lovell Martin.
