LITTLE ROCK — Democratic candidate for governor Mike Ross led Republican Asa Hutchinson in April fundraising, according to monthly campaign finance reports filed Tuesday with the secretary of state’s office.
The former Democratic congressman reported that his campaign raised $491,153 and spent $506,973 in April. As of April 30, Ross has nearly $2 million on hand.
Hutchinson, also a former congressman, reported raising $240,375 and spending $579,927 last month. His campaign had $903,858 on hand at the end of the month.
Hutchinson far outstripped his Republican primary opponent, businessman Curtis Coleman, who reported raising $62,060 in April.
Coleman’s campaign spent $72,623 last month and had $5,883 on hand at the end of the month.
An April fundraising report for Ross’ Democratic primary opponent, substitute teacher Lynette Bryant, was not immediately available Tuesday afternoon.
