Railcar maintenance company to locate in Jonesboro, create 350 jobs

LITTLE ROCK — A railcar maintenance company said Thursday it will locate in Jonesboro in the former Nordex USA wind turbine plant and plans to employ about 350 people.

TrinityRail Maintenance Services is a subsidiary of Dallas-based Trinity Industries, which provides industrial products and services including railcars, railcar parts, inland barges, storage containers, wind towers and railcar leasing and management services.

“We welcome TrinityRail Maintenance Services to Jonesboro, and we are excited for the significant investment the company is making in Northeast Arkansas,” Gov. Mike Beebe said in a news release. “This shows again that when Arkansas cities have the right workforce and facilities, new companies will continue to bring good-paying jobs here.”

Jonesboro Mayor Harold Perrin said, “Jonesboro’s reputation as a manufacturing hub continues to grow with TrinityRail Maintenance Service’s decision to locate its new facility here. We appreciate the company’s confidence in our workforce and look forward to TrinityRail’s success in Jonesboro.”
