Paragould doctor accused of secretly photographing patient nude

LITTLE ROCK — A warrant was issued Tuesday for the arrest of a Paragould doctor accused of taking nude photos of a female patient without her knowledge or consent, according to the 2nd Judicial District prosecutor’s office in Jonesboro.

Dr. Paul Becton Jr., 68, who operates Becton Women’s Clinic in Paragould, is wanted on five felony counts of video voyeurism, Prosecuting Attorney Scott Ellington stated in a news release.

Ellington said the Arkansas State Police began investigating Becton, who specializes in obstetrics and gynecology, after a female patient reported to Paragould police that she suspected she may have been photographed.

The clinic and the Arkansas Medical Board have been notified of the allegations, Ellington said. Becton has not seen any patients this week, he said.

A phone call to the clinic late Tuesday afternoon was answered by a recording stating that the office was closed.
