The Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas experienced about 35,000 outages at the peak of the current winter storm, it announced in a press release Friday.
At about 1 p.m. Friday, about 21,000 electric cooperative members were without power. Cooperative linemen across the state have worked throughout the night and day to restore service to those impacted. Arkansas Valley Electric Cooperative of Ozark and Rich Mountain Electric Cooperative of Mena have of been the hardest hit cooperatives so far. Other cooperatives have experienced scattered outages.
