WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Tom Cotton, R-Dardanelle, was married over the weekend to Anna Peckham, an attorney in Virginia.
Cotton announced the wedding by posting a photograph of the couple on his Twitter account. Otherwise, the couple has kept their relationship largely private.
David Ray, a spokesman for Cotton’s Senate campaign, said the two met at a lunch and have been engaged since late 2013. They married Saturday during a small wedding ceremony attended by family and close friends. The couple is on a short honeymoon and plan to live in Arkansas, he said.
Ray provided few details about Peckham other than to say she grew up in rural Nebraska.
A photograph of Peckham appears in a Yeshiva University publication in fall 2004, pictured with Kenneth Starr, the independent counsel whose investigation into the Monica Lewinsky scandal led to President Clinton’s impeachment.
Peckham, a 2004 graduate of Yeshiva’s Cardozo Law School, was a leader of the student-run Federalist Society that invited Starr to speak there about the U.S. Supreme Court and its influence on American culture and politics, according to the publication.
