The driver of the vehicle allegedly refused to stop for Barnett and a chase resulted. Sims said that after the vehicle ran into the ditch, the driver and passenger fled on foot, with the driver jumping two fences and running through a wooded area before entering a house. The driver was found hiding in a back room of the house and another trooper who was coming to assist Barnett arrested the passenger at a nearby house.
