PBPD expands social media outreach

The Pine Bluff Police Department will begin a social media outreach service Thursday that will provide followers with information on wanted individuals, stolen vehicles, missing persons and other items regarding public safety or community interest.

Multi-vehicle wreck shuts down 28th Avenue

A multi-vehicle accident at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday on West 28th Avenue near Bay Street shut down westbound traffic on the overpass for a lengthy period of time while police and wreckers worked to clean up the street. Westbound traffic was being diverted at Catalpa Street, while traffic attempting to turn west on 28th Avenue from Bay Street was diverted back into the Shady Grove area. Third person linked to Sunday homicide

An investigation into the shooting death of a Pine Bluff man and the wounding of a second Sunday night took a different twist Tuesday during a probable cause hearing in Jefferson County District Court when a third person was linked to the incident.

Police arrest burglary suspect

A reported residential burglary in the 800 block of West Barraque Street on Friday afternoon led to the arrest of a man who police say was identified by witnesses as the person who broke into the house.
