A traffic stop by police Tuesday resulted in the arrest of a woman on drug-related charges.
Sharita Houston, 23, was a passenger in the vehicle and had four oxycodone pills in her purse, Vice and Narcotics Detective Michael Battles said in a probable-cause affidavit presented in court Wednesday.
Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said that when Houston was questioned about the suspected drugs, she told police “she was holding them for someone else.”
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $2,500 bond for Houston after ruling that prosecutors had probable cause to charge her with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.
The Public Defender’s Office was appointed to represent Houston.
