A Pine Bluff woman was arrested Wednesday afternoon after she allegedly left the scene of a personal-injury accident on Middle Warren Road.
Renate Wagner, 69, was identified after a witness followed the car Wagner was driving and got a license plate number, Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said during a court hearing Thursday.
Sheriff’s Deputy Rick Conyers said in a probable-cause affidavit that the accident was reported on Middle Warren Road and Bugle Drive and involved a red Cadillac allegedly driven by Wagner, which struck a blue pickup, then left the scene. According to the affidavit, the truck turned over and a passenger in the truck was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries.
The driver of the truck and the passenger were not identified during the court hearing.
Kizer said that when deputies located the Cadillac, they found that it had also struck several mail boxes and Wagner was cited with an alcohol-related offense.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $10,000 bond for Wagner after ruling that prosecutors had probable cause to charge her with leaving the scene of an accident.
Wagner said she would hire her own attorney.
