A $10,000 bond was set Tuesday for a White Hall man who allegedly beat a woman Sunday night.
Michael Lockhart, 37, allegedly hit the woman several times during the night, and she waited until he fell asleep to go to the police station, according to an affidavit from White Hall Police Officer John Zuber.
Lockhart was taken into custody Sunday morning after being seen driving down Dollarway Road.
Zuber said in his report that Lockhart was convicted of third-degree domestic battery in Dallas County Circuit Court in 2012.
District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling that prosecutors had probable cause to charge Lockhart with second-offense third-degree domestic battery.
Bridgforth ordered Lockhart to have no contact with the alleged victim until the case is settled and to return to court on June 10. He will be represented by the public defender’s office.
