Two Pine Bluff men were shot Saturday afternoon on the parking lot of a church on the east side of the city.
According to a police report, Eddie Lee Jackson, 36, and Jimmy Nace, 41, had attended a funeral at Indiana Street Baptist Church at 1114 Indiana St. and when they walked outside, a four door car, possibly a Buick, drove south on Indiana Street and someone in the vehicle started shooting. Jackson described the car as brown while Nace said it was dark brown.
Jackson was shot in his buttocks and his right leg and Nace was shot twice in the right leg.
The two were taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center in a private vehicle.
A witness to the incident told police they saw a gold four-door passenger car speeding south on Indiana Street and two suspects’ arms out of the windows on the front and back passenger side. The witness also said they could not see the faces of the individuals in the vehicle.
Officer Ryan Edwards of the Pine Bluff Police Department said in a report that he found five shell casings on the west side of Indiana Street and a projectile on the north side of the parking lot close to the church.
Both Jackson and Nace said they did not recognize anyone in the vehicle.
Anyone with information about the incident should contact the Detective Division at 730-2090 or the dispatch center at 541-5300. All calls will be kept confidential.
