A guard at the Maximum Security Unit at Tucker was arrested Saturday after he allegedly brought drugs and contraband into the prison.
Xzavier Clark, 21, was searched when he reported for work at 6 p.m. and another guard felt what Arkansas State Police Special Agent Jerome Sanders said in a probable cause affidavit was a “hard object near Clark’s crotch.”
According to the affidavit, corrections officials conducted a “partial strip search” of Clark and located a plastic bag taped to Clark’s leg. The bag contained 17.5 grams of suspected marijuana, four pink pills, one green pill and multiple tobacco rolling papers.
Sanders said in the affidavit that Clark refused to talk when questioned by investigators.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $5,000 bond for Clark on Monday after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge him with furnishing prohibited articles.
