Suspect accused of using stolen credit card

A Pine Bluff man was arrested after he allegedly used a stolen credit card to make several purchases.

James Barnes, 20, allegedly admitted kicking in the door of a house in the 2000 block of West Pullen Street and taking a bank debit card from the resident, Detective Marsha Oliver said in a probable-cause affidavit that was presented in court Thursday.

Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said police were able to obtain store video showing Barnes using the card at different locations, including one at The Pines mall, where he was arrested.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $10,000 bond for Barnes, who Kizer said had no prior convictions or pending charges, after ruling that prosecutors had probable cause to charge him with theft of property, fraudulent use of a credit card, residential burglary and criminal mischief.

Barnes said he would hire his own attorney.
