A possible burglary in progress Saturday morning at a house on the west side of Pine Bluff resulted in the arrest of a man who was seen coming out a window.
Antonio Cole, 33, was caught after a short foot chase, Detective Scott Norton said in a probable cause affidavit presented in court Monday.
Deputy Prosecutor Nicole Pugh said police were sent at 10:55 a.m. to 1912 Arlington St. and the first officer to arrive on the scene found a piece of plywood that had been pulled off a window on the south side of the house.
Norton said in the affidavit that while the officer was waiting on backup, he heard what sounded like someone coming out of the front of the house, and when he went to check, turned back and saw a man later identified as Cole coming out the window.
Pugh said after Cole was arrested, officers cleared the house and didn’t find anyone else inside.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $10,000 bond for Cole, who Pugh said had no prior convictions or pending charges, after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge him with breaking or entering.
Cole said he would hire his own attorney.
