A Pine Bluff man was arrested on drug-related charges Thursday after police served a search warrant at a house in central Pine Bluff.
Kendric Pugh, 36, and another man were detained when police vice and narcotics officers and a K-9 unit from the Arkansas Department of Correction served the warrant at 2619 S. Oak St.
During a court hearing Friday, Deputy Prosecutor Bryan Achorn said the investigators found multiple clear plastic bags containing suspected marijuana, multiple empty prescription bottles with different names on them, and multiple bottles containing suspected codeine.
Detective Richard McCorvy said in a probable-cause affidavit that a Mason jar containing an ounce of suspected marijuana in one of the plastic bags, and several other bags of suspected marijuana were located in the search.
Pugh was also arrested on a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant from District Court.
Because Achorn said Pugh had multiple prior convictions, Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set bond at $15,000 after ruling that prosecutors had probable cause to charge Pugh with two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Pugh said he would hire his own attorney.
