Pedestrian struck by vehicle, arrested for public intoxication

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Bryant Street on Thursday night, and a police report said the victim was intoxicated.

Kevin K. White, 34, of Pine Bluff was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center where he was treated. While at the hospital, he was charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing governmental operations, as well as public intoxication.

According to the accident report, Betty J. Thompson, 62, of Pine Bluff was northbound on Bryant Street near Parker Street when White was struck. Witnesses told Officer Ryan Moheb they saw White attempting to flag down drivers for a ride.

While at the hospital, White allegedly was heard swearing at the nurses who were attempting to treat him, and refused to provide Moheb the information he needed to complete his report.

Thompson was cited for striking a pedestrian and for no proof of insurance .

The injuries to White were described as non-life threatening.

The accident was reported at 8:27 p.m.
