PBPD expands social media outreach

The Pine Bluff Police Department will begin a social media outreach service Thursday that will provide followers with information on wanted individuals, stolen vehicles, missing persons and other items regarding public safety or community interest.

The PBPD Facebook page is at www.facebook.com/pinebluff.pbpd. Follow them on Twitter @pbpolicedept, on Instagram @pbpolicedept and on Pinterest under the username pinebluffpolice.

Information on these sites will be updated in a timely fashion, PBPD spokesman Lt. David Price said in a press release. For example, information on stolen vehicles will be published immediately and subscribers/followers can inform the department of the whereabouts of the vehicle directly through the social media platform.

Police still encourage the public not to get physically involved with a suspect or criminal situation, but rather report the information to the police. The information will then be followed up on by the police.

Information provided will remain confidential.

Police may still be contacted through traditional means by calling the detectives division at 730-2090 or the dispatch center at 541-5300.
