A Pine Bluff man previously convicted of misdemeanor domestic battery will face a felony allegation after being arrested again Monday morning.
Lastarazal Johnson was taken into custody after police were sent to the Plaza Hotel at 7:30 a.m. in response to a reported disturbance, Detective Steve Rucker said when he testified at a probable cause hearing Thursday in Pine Bluff District Court.
Rucker said a woman told police she and Johnson had gotten into a physical altercation and during the altercation, Johnson placed his hand over her mouth, resulting in injuries.
Johnson had previously been convicted of misdemeanor domestic battery in October 2012, according to court records.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $5,000 bond for Johnson on the felony domestic battery allegation and also ordered him to have no contact with the alleged victim until the case is settled.
Johnson said he would hire his own attorney.
