A two-vehicle accident in central Pine Bluff on Monday morning resulted in injuries to the driver of one of the vehicles.
Jerry L. Tolbert, 48, of Pine Bluff, was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center by ambulance after the car he was driving was struck by another vehicle at 10:32 a.m. at the intersection of West 27th Avenue and Poplar Street.
According to a report from Traffic Officer Travis Goforth of the Pine Bloff Police Department, Tolbert was driving a 2012 Chrysler west on West 27th Avenue and said he saw another vehicle coming north on Poplar Street out of the corner of his eye just before the two vehicles hit.
The driver of the other vehicle, Lloyd G. Stanfield, 74, of Pine Bluff told Goforth he was not sure what happened but said he was going west of 27th Avenue.
A witness to the accident said she saw the car driven by Tolbert going west on 27th Avenue and the other car, a gray 1990 Cadillace DeVille, going north on Poplar street. The witness said the gray car came across and hit the other car.
Damages to the car driven by Tolbert were estimated at $3,500. Damage to the car driven by Stanfield was estimated at $2,500.
Stanfield was issued a citation for failure to stop at a stop sign and for no proof of insurance.
