The victim who was stabbed to death Sunday evening has been identified as 41-year-old Maurice Devone Turner, according to officials.
Witnesses said Gary Foots, 58, allegedly stabbed Turner once in the chest at a family get-together on the north side of Pine Bluff about 5:55 p.m., according to police spokesman Sgt. David De Foor.
The two had been arguing in the yard while grilling at 2709 Hill St., witnesses said. Foots then allegedly stabbed Turner with a cooking knife he had in his hand. Foots never left the scene and was arrested there without incident.

Foots is in custody on probable cause of first-degree murder, pending an expected court appearance this week. The police investigation into the incident is ongoing.
